The KATO Prewinder Hand (KPH) installation tool is designed for low volume users of KATO Tangless and Tanged CoilThread inserts. Unlike competitors that utilize plastic body parts, the all-steel contruction of the KPH tool makes them sturdy and dependable. The KPH tool is designed with precision and durability in mind for manual installation of CoilThread inserts. Customers that install hundreds or thousands of inserts per month should consider using the KATO Prewinder Electric or Air tool for a significant boost in productivity and reduced labor costs.
KATO strongly recommends using Prewinder style hand tools for ALL manual installation of Tangless and tanged CoilThread inserts. The prewinder compresses the insert allowing for easier and more consistent installation. For coarse inserts above 1/2″, KATO does not offer the prewinder style hand tool. Style 2 (threaded mandrel) is recommended for these larger sizes.
